Locations

In terms of settings we are gunning for an urban area. The charactes and lead singer are all young so an urban lifestyle fit them. When was the last time you saw a group of young adults in the rural parts of the UK. Other than glue I got nothing. Its a stereotype, not a good one or bad one but it is one.

Locations for filming.
The metro. The metro is a wondrous thing, dusty, sickly, hell on wheels but it is a rare thing, Newcastle is actually blessed to have it. It is also a form of transport that you can film on. The main characters are young and probably don't have much money thus no car so they would use the metro. We have an idea during a split screen where in which we would see each of them travelling.

Bridge
Newcastle has alot of bridges. We intend to film on them. With the Tyne in the background we want to film on the Tyne and Millennium bridges. The are both prime locations for filming, iconic. The singer is planned to be filmed there. The bridges aren't that busy and they are also thin, so we can ask people to go around the camera and we wont have to heard a group of strangers around.

House
A portion of our piece is filmed inside of a house. This is reflective of a typical relationship. Filming inside of a house is difficult it can often seems small and cramped which can ruin a shot. So in preparation I did some research:

Film large rooms far back. Cameras take up space and the space it takes up shrinks the room in the shot. this means we will have to find a suitable house with rooms we can use.

Use natural light. Home lights and lamps will not match up with natural light. you can buy a bulb for £5 and there is a reason why studios invest thousands of pounds into equipment for that one shot. 

Play around with apature. Apature mimics distance if we use lots of focus pulls and pushes we can avoid the small cramped spaces.

Corridors are awesome. I literally saw this on every photography forum I went on. They are long and thin which gives an amazing effect on the camera shot.   

Still shots. Moving cameras make even less space. Have you ever seem a TV show filmed in a house with a moving camera. Unless its tracking or a mansion. I haven't.

We intend on following theses rules to the T, we learned a lot in our preliminary.
